Shape it, wad it up, spread it just like clay. After it has dried, it can be easily cut.

Shown is the “rubbed transfer” technique used to paint with silver paste directly onto the back of leaves.

Using the syringe, you can draw hollow patterns around materials such as paper clay which burns away during firing.

  • Casting
Apply over materials such as carved cork or paper clay to make hollow objects.

  • Shaping or Molding
Shape with hands or tools or press into a mold.

  • Texture Presentation
Using soft clay, interesting patterns can be obtained by pressing or scratching against an object.

  • Combine with Silver Leaf and Silver Plate
Apply Art Clay Silver onto leaf or plate silver, then fire in the kiln.

  • Soldering
Since fired Art Clay is porous, it can be soldered the same as other forms of silver.

  • Oxidizing
Fired Art Clay Silver can be antiqued by dulling with sulfur. Fumigating also works.

  • Silver Breast Pins and Other Accessories
    for Art Clay Silver

Create pendants, earrings, brooches, etc. using breast pins and other accessories made for Art Clay Silver. These accessories do not need soldering.
